We want to reassure you Sunflowers Care is taking all the necessary precautions and that we are continually monitoring official advice from Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England.
Currently our advice to families and staff is that they need not take any extra precautions to those being advised by the NHS and PHE.
We are limiting visitors to families and those who are essential to the child’s health and wellbeing.
We are asking visitors and staff not to attend if they have had contact with somebody who has symptoms of the virus or if they themselves are experiencing symptoms, such as a new, continuous cough and/or high temperature of 37.8 and above. The children and young people who receive care from us can be particularly vulnerable to respiratory infections and must be our priority.
We thank those visitors this may affect for their understanding and, of course, wish them well.
We would like to reassure families and supporters that we are planning ahead to minimise any impacts.
Updates will be made as and when necessary, in line with the latest government guidance.

From a child staying at Sunflowers
Care is individually planned and we focus on children having fun during their stay as well as acknowledging each child’s developmental and social needs. We offer facilities for parents to stay with their child while they’re at Sunflowers as we firmly believe that families should be together whenever possible.
Sunflowers complies with Fire Regulations and we adhere to Health and Safety standards. All staff receive annual mandatory training covering these issues.
Helping children live ordinary lives in extraordinary circumstances
Sunflowers Care is led by Lucy Andrews and Karen Higgins who have over 50 years combined nursing experience. Their team is highly trained and share the ethos that children are ideally cared for at home but when that cannot happen a home-from-home environment is the next best option.
